Open to working with clients outside the U.S.
I've been working as a designer for 9+ years, mainly focused on early-stage startups. If you've been able to work at a startup then you know how it forces you to wear a *lot* of hats in the organization. I also ran a small design studio called Mondays, where we focused on brand, web, and product design for clients ranging from pre-funding startups to billion dollar organizations. I've mentored lots of younger designers and find tremendous fulfillment in helping newer designers hone their skills.

About Tanner
I'm a designer, cycler, and software tinkerer. Currently leading design at Leland, where we're making the world's expertise more accessible. In the past I’ve designed experiences for companies like Greenhouse, Sunrun, Tiled, and led my own design studio, MONDAYS, where we focused on brand & product design. I'm passionate about building well-crafted products that reach a high visual bar—SWEAT THE DETAILS. If you're a young designer trying to figure out exactly where you fit in the design space, a good mentor is a crucial resource to help you figure out where you can succeed. There are so many career paths for designers to choose from, and I help designers of all experience levels navigate career transitions.
Why do I coach?
University design programs are awesome, but over the past few years I've noticed designers coming out of these programs without all the skills necessary to land a role on a great design team. My goal on Leland is to help younger designers figure out their path through the design field, and to help you focus on the skillsets that you need to hone in order to land a role on a killer design team.
