About Shelbie
With 20 years of experience in Program/Project Management, Talent Acquisition, and Human Resources—including over 15 years in senior management—I’ve noticed a recurring gap: the lack of employee development. Coaching, training, and mentoring is what fuels my passion. The connections I’ve built and the feedback I’ve received have been invaluable and have driven me to expand my impact. People want to feel seen and valued, not just checked off a to-do list. They deserve leaders who listen and are committed to their growth and aspirations. Too often, managers who rise from within don’t receive the support they need and, in turn, can’t provide it for their teams. I’m dedicated to changing that. Unlike the typical “corporate” leader who follows the status quo without adding unique insight, I bring genuine authenticity to every interaction. While this approach hasn’t always been met with open arms, I remain committed to speaking up when needed, offering thoughtful, professional explanations, and alternative solutions when things don’t align. My confidence, integrity, and honesty are at the core of who I am, and I believe these qualities resonate with others from the moment we connect. In closing, I am someone who over-delivers without being asked and becomes invested from conception, continually learning and evolving to improve with every experience.
Why do I coach?
I coach to make a meaningful difference and leave a lasting impression on those I work with. Authenticity is at the heart of my coaching approach; it’s not something that can be faked. I believe employees are invaluable and can significantly impact an organization when they feel invested in. This investment shouldn’t be limited to entry-level staff—in fact, leadership development training can have an even greater influence by empowering larger groups. Why do I coach? It’s because I’m driven by a genuine desire to impact people’s lives. In a previous role, I coached a large team facing the difficult reality that their department was closing, and they needed to secure other employment within the company before their end date. I immediately volunteered my time to host weekly group meetings to better understand what support they needed from me and my team. This was especially challenging because the group felt disheartened and defeated, which motivated me even more to create an open-door policy and offer unwavering support. I built strong relationships and provided insights into the internal hiring process, demystifying assumptions and guiding them through the application and interview phases. The most critical element was establishing genuine rapport—not just as a “manager” but as a trusted confidant who truly cared about their careers and futures. There are no words that can fully capture my passion for coaching, but I believe it becomes evident in any collaboration. With over 20 years of experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge to a wide range of scenarios, and for any unfamiliar challenge, I’m confident we can navigate solutions together. This is why I coach—to create lasting impact, foster trust, and inspire growth in others.

Education

Empire State University
Business Management & Economics, Concentration: Human Resources
2014 - 2015
After being laid off, I resumed my schooling in Business with a concentration in Human Resources. While attending school full time I received an amazing job offer and continued both as long as I could. The cost of tuition was taxing and ultimately I chose to focus on my career. I finished out the semester and did not return.

Jefferson Community College
Business Management & Economics
1997 - 1999
I relocated during schooling and needed a full time job for living arrangements. Unfortunately I was not able to afford both and did not return to college.
