About Shane

Originally from Dallas, TX, my career and academic journeys and have taken me all over the US and all over the world. I have established a non traditional career path in many ways, chasing the next adventure. I started my career at McKinsey & Co. working across the tech., public, and social sectors before realizing I wanted to work with social impact oriented people every day and that the "you say jump, I say how high?" of consulting wasn't for me in the long run. Through McKinsey, I had year-long stints at the US Space Force and the Gates Foundation, where I became more interested in investing in emerging markets. I joined a private equity firm focused on healthcare in emerging markets and moved to Nairobi. I moved back to the states to get my MBA at Wharton, where I focused on climate tech investing. After Wharton, I stumbled across an interesting investing opportunity at the intersection of energy and AI within the US Government, where I am currently investing in national security technologies.
