About Sal
I’m Sal Hernandez, a sales and leadership coach who’s spent the last decade building teams, developing leaders, and helping people realize what they’re actually capable of. I’ve led large sales organizations at Yelp, USA Today Network, Angi, and across the tech and digital marketing world, and the one thing that’s always stood out to me is this: people don’t grow when they’re just told what to do. They grow when they feel supported, challenged, and understood. My path hasn’t been perfect, and that’s actually what shaped my coaching style. I’ve been through tough environments, career pivots, burnout, rebuilding seasons, and major wins. I know what it feels like to carry pressure from work while still trying to show up for your family and yourself. I know what it feels like to lead a team that’s stuck, or to step into a new leadership role and wonder if you’re doing it right. I coach from experience, not theory. I work with new and emerging sales leaders who want to build confidence, communicate with clarity, and create teams that actually want to follow them. I focus on mindset, accountability, and real leadership skills like giving feedback, having direct conversations, setting expectations, and building a culture where people rise together. My approach is honest, warm, and focused on helping you take action without overthinking. Outside of coaching, I’m a dad, husband, lifelong learner, and a Leadership Studies graduate who’s now finishing a master’s in Organizational Development at the University of the Incarnate Word in Texas. Why do I coach?
I coach because I know what it feels like to be capable but unsure, to step into leadership and feel the weight of every decision, and to hit moments in life where you realize you need a reset. I’ve been there. I’ve had seasons where things were heavy at work and at home, and I tried to carry it all quietly. What helped me climb out of that wasn’t a strategy or a book. It was having someone in my corner who listened, challenged me, and reminded me that I wasn’t alone. That experience changed everything for me. It taught me that growth really happens when someone believes in you enough to tell you the truth, support you through the messy parts, and push you toward the person you already know you can be. I coach because I want to be that person for others. I’ve seen talented people hold themselves back because of doubt, unclear expectations, or the pressure to be perfect. I’ve seen new leaders struggle simply because no one ever taught them how to lead. And I’ve seen how quickly things can change when they get the right support. Coaching matters to me because it gives people a chance to breathe, refocus, and step into their role with confidence. It’s not just about hitting numbers or making better decisions. It’s about helping someone realize they’re stronger, smarter, and more capable than they think. That’s the work that fills me up.
