About Pranjal
My name is Pranjal Sheth, and I’m an analyst at Moelis & Company in their Houston Global Energy Investment Banking Group. Before joining Moelis full-time, I interned with Mizuho Securities in their Power, Utilities & Infrastructure Group in NYC and at Hastings Equity Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, where I worked on LBOs of middle-market companies in business services, infrastructure, and renewables. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston in Fall 2024 with a BBA in Finance. I actually started out pre-med and spent my first year thinking I’d be working in hospitals and labs. Right before my first summer, I realized I wanted to try finance instead. I cold-emailed my way into a private equity role freshman year that turned into a year-long internship and paved the way for my sophomore and junior recruiting cycles. I ended up recruiting with 20+ banks, landing multiple offers, and chose Mizuho so I could explore both healthcare (tying back to my pre-med background) and PUI to test out the energy space — which I ended up loving and ultimately brought me to Moelis. I went through recruiting as a non-target student and know how tough and confusing it can be. Along the way, I’ve helped classmates and friends land roles at Jefferies, Evercore, Cohen & Company, and more. If you’re coming from a non-target, pivoting from a different background, or just want to break into high finance, I’d love to help you build your story and tackle recruiting with confidence.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I know firsthand how much the right mentors and coaches can change your path. I’ve been lucky to have incredible mentors at every stage — from figuring out how to pivot from pre-med to finance, to landing that first internship through cold emails, to navigating offers and tough decisions. Even today, I have mentors who help me grow in my career, in my personal life, and far beyond work. Coaching is my way to pay that forward. I know how overwhelming recruiting can feel, especially if you’re coming from a non-target school or an unconventional background like I did. I want to help the next generation see what’s possible, build a plan, and feel confident telling their story — just like my mentors did for me.
