About Orly
I'm a Stanford MBA grad ('22) and consultant for BCG who comes from a background in creative writing and nonprofits. After serious struggles with the GMAT, I cracked the process - getting into 6 top MBA programs (GSB / Wharton / MIT / Haas / Kellogg / SOM), with $400k in scholarships. If I can do it, so can you -- and I can't wait to help you each step of the way. Coaching is incredibly meaningful to me. My clients have gotten into HBS, Haas, Kellogg, Darden, and UNC -- several with great scholarships! Here's what I promise to bring to your application process, no matter what part of your journey you're in: - Storytelling savvy: I'm a published author and former editor with a passion for telling stories and years of experience writing, public speaking, and editing others' work. Whether we're outlining your essay for college or an MBA program or preparing for an interview, I love helping my clients find ways to tell their unique story and stand out in a pool of applicants. - Guidance on every step: Applying to school is overwhelming, from finding where you even want to go to asking for recommendations. I can provide tactics on how to make the most of each opportunity you get to show off to the Admissions Committee. I bring with me my experience as an interviewer for Columbia, my alma mater. We'll go over preparing recommender templates, creating a snappy resume, picking a program where you can thrive, and so much more. - A people-first approach: Nothing gets me going more than helping others reach their dreams. I was selected as an Arubckle Fellow at Stanford and received one year of training on how to coach clients to success. I bring years of experience as a crisis hotline responder -- I can help you keep your head cool when the going gets tough and you need support and encouragement. More about me: I was born and raised in Guatemala, I'm halfway through writing a novel, and I love eating and dancing salsa.
