About Nour
Hi, I’m Nour — and I want to tell you a little about how I got here. I started my academic journey on the pre-med track, chasing a dream of becoming a healthcare provider. I worked hard, took all the right classes, logged thousands of hours in clinical settings, and was ultimately accepted into a competitive Physician Assistant program in California. Along the way, I worked as a medical scribe in a fast-paced emergency room, a substitute teacher, and a private tutor to support myself through school. What I didn’t expect was that through all of this, I would find my true calling: teaching. What started as a side job quickly became something more. I discovered I had a natural gift for explaining difficult concepts, connecting with students, and helping them succeed in ways they never thought possible. Over the past three years, I’ve tutored students of all ages — from early elementary to college-level — in math, science, reading, writing, and test prep. I’ve helped students who felt completely lost finally get it, watched their confidence grow, and seen their grades turn around. Some went from failing to passing. Others went from average to straight As. But more importantly, I’ve seen students begin to believe in themselves again. I approach every session with patience, flexibility, and a clear plan that’s tailored to your learning style. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all teaching. Whether you’re an adult trying to earn your GED, a parent looking for support for your child, or a student trying to keep up with chemistry or algebra — I’ll meet you exactly where you are, and help you move forward with clarity and confidence. This isn’t just about tutoring. It’s about helping you realize you’re capable of more than you think — and making sure you never feel like you have to figure it out alone.
Why do I coach?
As a private teacher who develops personal one-on-one relationships, it’s important for my clients to feel comfortable and know about my background. I've walked a path paved with hard work, dedication, and more than a few sleepless nights. I know what it's like to struggle with a tricky concept or stare down a seemingly insurmountable assignment. But those challenges have shaped me into the teacher I am today – someone who knows that every learning curve is an opportunity. I began my journey as a pre-med student and was eventually accepted into a competitive Physician Assistant program in California. Along the way, I worked as an emergency department medical scribe, a substitute teacher, and a private tutor — balancing rigorous clinical work with real-life teaching experience. What started as a side job to support my education turned into something much deeper. I realized that teaching came naturally to me — explaining difficult ideas, guiding students through their confusion, and watching those lightbulb moments unfold. Over the past three years, tutoring has evolved into more than just a job. It’s my passion and my purpose. In my teaching, there's no one-size-fits-all approach. I believe that understanding your unique learning style is the key to unlocking your potential. I've seen those "aha!" expressions, the growth that comes from conquering a difficult topic, and the confidence that blooms when you realize your capabilities. It's why I do what I do – those breakthroughs are my fuel. Tutoring isn't just about teaching; it's about nurturing growth and confidence. It's an opportunity to inspire and uplift individuals on their unique educational journeys. Beyond textbooks and assignments, tutoring becomes a space where students discover their own capabilities and develop the skills they'll carry for life.
