About Manuel
I grew up just outside Lisbon, Portugal, as the second oldest of five siblings in a family where education, hard work, and ambition were daily values. I studied Management and then pursued dual Master’s degrees in Finance and International Management before joining BCG, where I worked across Europe, Africa, and South America. At BCG, I collaborated with cross-regional teams on strategy, financial modeling, and stakeholder management projects, continuing a passion for mentorship and development that has been part of my journey from an early age. Helping others grow and succeed has always been deeply meaningful to me, both personally and professionally. After BCG, I completed my MBA at Harvard Business School and founded my own company, Prospio. Beyond work, I love playing football/soccer, reading fiction and non-fiction, and challenging myself with chess and fitness. I bring the same energy, structure, and care I gave my teams at BCG into my coaching approach, and I would love to help you navigate your next steps and achieve your goals.
Why do I coach?
Coaching has been a natural part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with two parents who were teachers and saw firsthand the impact they had on their students' lives. I carried that spirit with me, helping my younger siblings learn and grow, supporting classmates throughout school, and later teaching university students while still a student myself. At BCG, one of the parts of my role that gave me the most fulfillment was mentoring and developing junior consultants. I coach because I believe that teaching and coaching are powerful ways to create leverage in the world: by helping others grow, I can touch more lives and make a greater positive impact than I ever could alone. Coaching allows me to multiply the influence I have, empowering others to reach their potential and, in turn, go on to positively impact many more people. I know firsthand the impact that a great teacher, leader, or coach can have on someone's life. I would not be where I am today without the support and guidance of incredible coaches, and I will always strive to be that source of support for others.
