About Kunal
My name is Kunal, and I am a mental health and wellness coach with a background in neuroengineering. My journey into this field began through a deeply personal experience. At a young age, I survived a stroke that left me dealing with paralysis. During my recovery, I explored several therapeutic approaches in search of improvement. While some methods supported my recovery, it was through consistent practice of traditional Hatha yoga, breathwork, and meditation that I experienced the most meaningful change in both my physical and mental well-being. Over time, these practices helped me regain strength, stability, and clarity. Alongside this personal healing journey, I pursued my academic training in neuroengineering. This allows me to understand how movement, breath regulation, and mindfulness practices influence the brain, nervous system, and stress responses. Today, I integrate traditional yogic techniques with neuroscience-informed methods to support holistic mental and physical wellness. In my sessions, I guide individuals through Hatha yoga practices—including foundational sequences such as Sun Salutation—along with meditation and pranayama techniques. My coaching approach is accessible to people of all ages and experience levels and focuses on building sustainable habits for long-term well-being.
Why do I coach?
Coaching matters deeply to me because I have personally experienced what it feels like to struggle with recovery and uncertainty after a serious health challenge. During my rehabilitation journey after stroke and paralysis, I spent a long time searching for methods that could truly support healing—not just physically, but mentally as well. When I discovered yoga and mindfulness-based practices, they became a turning point in my life. They helped me rebuild confidence in my body, regulate stress, and develop a stronger connection between mind and movement. That experience shaped my decision to help others access the same tools that supported my recovery. Today, my goal as a coach is to make these practices accessible and practical for people facing stress, health challenges, or imbalance in their daily lives. By combining traditional yoga with neuroscience-backed understanding of the brain and nervous system, I aim to help clients build resilience, improve well-being, and create a healthier relationship with their body and mind.
