Joshua’s AI Automation & Agents Qualifications

Experience level: Vice President

I actively integrate AI into day-to-day product management workflows and coach others on how to use it responsibly and effectively across the full product lifecycle. My focus is not just on the tools themselves, but on how AI changes operating cadence, decision-making, and execution quality for product teams. I regularly use AI to synthesize large qualitative and quantitative inputs — including stakeholder feedback, customer research, meeting notes, support tickets, and performance data — into actionable product insights and prioritized decisions. I also use it to accelerate product documentation (PRDs, acceptance criteria, roadmaps), structure experimentation plans, and pressure-test product thinking before development begins. Beyond documentation, I apply AI to: - market and competitive analysis - hypothesis generation and validation planning - feature scoping and edge-case identification - UX and copy iteration - prototyping and concept evaluation - preparing executive-level communication and product narratives I also coach professionals on when not to use AI, how to verify outputs, and how to combine domain expertise with AI assistance rather than replacing judgment. A core part of my coaching is teaching PMs how to move from task execution to higher-leverage thinking by offloading mechanical work (summaries, organization, first-draft analysis) while retaining ownership of strategy, prioritization, and decision accountability. My goal is to help product managers become AI-augmented operators — faster, clearer, and more strategic — rather than simply faster at producing documents.

About Joshua

I didn’t start my career in product — I found my way into it. After working in media and entertainment, I went back to business school thinking I’d move into traditional marketing. But while I was there, social media exploded. Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter were reshaping how people interacted with media in real time, and I became fascinated by the shift in consumer behavior. I decided to pivot and took my first product role at MySpace during its hyper-growth years. It was chaotic, ambiguous, and the best training ground I could have asked for — I learned quickly that product isn’t about having the right answers, it’s about learning how to think. Since then I’ve spent nearly two decades building consumer products across marketplaces, e-commerce, and streaming, and today I’m a VP of Product leading large-scale direct-to-consumer experiences.

Why do I coach?

I coach because I genuinely enjoy helping people navigate moments I remember clearly myself — breaking into product, figuring out how to grow, and understanding what leaders are actually looking for. My goal isn’t just to help someone pass an interview, but to give them confidence and clarity about where they’re going and how to get there.
