About Joseph

I never thought I’d end up where I am today. I was a sick kid—the kind who missed months of school at a time. Somewhere in those long, uncertain stretches, I made a quiet promise to myself: if I got the chance to grow up, I’d use my life to help others avoid the kind of suffering I went through. That promise turned into a dream—to reduce suffering at scale and help people build lives of meaning. That dream carried me further than I ever expected—from a crowded home in rural Indiana with few resources, to starting companies, working at a top consulting firm, and to the Stanford Graduate School of Business, becoming the first in my family to earn a graduate degree. That same dream has guided me to serve communities facing deep suffering—from the front lines of Ukraine, where I provided aid to civilians and coached injured soldiers, to refugee camps offering psychosocial support, and into my own community, working with families navigating addiction and abuse. These experiences have shaped how I show up: with presence, perspective, and a deep respect for the resilience of the human spirit. Coaching became a natural extension of that meaning to help others overcome and live lives of meaning, first informally, mentoring others I led at BCG and in my community, and later as a professional coach. I coach because I know what it’s like to carry a dream that feels bigger than your circumstances—and what it takes to bring it to life. Whether it’s getting into a top-tier MBA program, landing your dream job, or building a career that’s more aligned with who you are, I’m here to help you move from vision to reality—with clarity, courage, and purpose.

Why do I coach?

You're probably here because you have a dream. If your dream is calling you to places higher than anyone around you has gone, you’re not alone. Mine has too. To reach it, you have to protect it. (cue the cheesy Will Smith scene in The Pursuit of Happyness). Dreams don’t die from a lack of talent or motivation—they die from a lack of clarity. My job is to guide you through the uncharted path you are forging -- helping you find clarity and certainty by achieving the emotional states, crafting the personal narratives, and adopting the effective strategies that will get you where you want to go. I coach because I want to see incredible people do incredible things with their dreams. So, whether it is getting into a top-tier MBA program, landing your dream job, or crafting a career that is more aligned with your values, I am excited to help guide you from dream to reality.
