About JJ
Hi! I'm JJ and I love collaborating with people towards their highest purpose. My career to date has been a long, slow arc starting in work that provided financial security and steadily making its way towards inspired meaning and purpose. I have been through the lows: depression, burnout, grief, feeling disconnected from the things I cared about and struggling to trust where I was or what to do next. I've also been incredibly privileged: qualifying as a finance professional after 7 years of study and practice, studying plant medicine in the Amazonian jungle, obtaining my MBA from the University of Oxford, training as a dancing meditation facilitator, growing a start-up in a foreign country through the pandemic, completing a systems thinking apprenticeship and most recently taking the leap into the fields I believe are most pressing: inner development, planetary governance, economic transformation and rewilding. I will bring professional expertise, global insight and spiritual depth to our conversations - and trust we will both leave enriched.
Why do I coach?
I have had coaches and mentors that held spaces for some of the most challenging and rewarding times of my life. They invested in me through all kinds of modalities and supported my personal growth towards greater and greater inner harmony and external achievement. My first trip abroad from South Africa was to India at the age of 22, and although my time in the Himalayan foothills was nothing like my life back home, I noticed that I kept returning to similar patterns of thoughts and feelings. It suddenly became clear that I was the only common denominator between those two worlds, and that perhaps I needed to look inwards to produce the changes in my life I was seeking. It was during that trip that I decided to become a student of our inner landscapes. Now, over a decade later, I help others navigate their personal and professional growth by supporting their inner development, passing on the gifts that I've received from countless others over the years.
