About Jeff
For over three decades, Jeff Negus has navigated complex environments and led with clarity, courage, and purpose. From commanding naval operations to directing business intelligence in higher education, Jeff brings a rare combination of strategic vision, technical acumen, and human-centered leadership. As a U.S. Navy officer for 20+ years, he commanded teams in high-stakes settings—serving aboard the USS Parche (SSN 683), contributing on the Admiral’s staff aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), and acting as a department head in submarine operations. After transitioning from active duty, Jeff expanded into roles in energy consulting, electronics sales, data analytics, and academia—teaching college-level mathematics at Salt Lake Community College and offering private tutoring in subjects like military tests, statistics, test prep, and Microsoft Office tools.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I’ve seen what happens when smart, capable students start to doubt themselves. A tough question, a low practice score, or the pressure of a big exam can make even the brightest person forget what they know. My mission is to bring back that confidence; to help students see that success isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being prepared and calm under pressure. I teach strategies, not shortcuts; clarity, not cramming. Every student has the potential to perform at their best. My role is to guide them ther; to simplify complex ideas, build habits that last, and turn test anxiety into test mastery. I coach because I know the moment when preparation turns into confidence, and it’s life-changing.
