About James
I'm currently a venture capital investor based in Boston. I focus on enterprise software, AI, and deep tech investing. Before joining my current firm, I got an MBA from Harvard Business School and a JD from Harvard Law School through their dual degree program. I started my career in management consulting in NYC. In college, I majored in economics and ran on the varsity track and field team as a sprinter. A proud native of LA, I moved to Boston long enough ago that I'm now a loyal fan of all Boston sports teams. Fun fact: I was an extra on Succession, and appeared on screen with the great Brian Cox.
Why do I coach?
I first got into coaching/mentoring in college, where I worked as a teaching fellow in economics for 3 years. Since then, I've also expanded my horizons to advise numerous MBA and JD applicants on the admissions process, coach underclassmen through navigating business school, law school, or college, and teach other subjects. I find it incredibly rewarding to offer concrete knowledge and advice for others and see it help them make better informed decisions. I've learned from great mentors throughout my academic and professional careers, and I hope to pay it forward.
