Jamal’s Data Science Qualifications
Experience level: Manager
I coach AI and applied machine learning with a focus on building reliable, interpretable models from real-world data. I’m a researcher at the University of Cambridge working on traumatic brain injury and Alzheimer’s, integrating multimodal MRI and blood biomarkers with modern ML methods. I can help you structure your problem, design strong baselines and evaluations, avoid common pitfalls (like leakage), and add interpretability and uncertainty so results hold up in practice.

About Jamal
I am a computational neuroscientist and AI researcher with experience in machine learning, data science, and human behavior. Over the years, I have worked across academia and applied research, building quantitative models for complex real-world problems. I now help people navigate careers in AI, research, and data science, especially those trying to move between academia and industry. My approach is practical, honest, and tailored to each person’s strengths and goals
Why do I coach?
I care about coaching because I know how challenging it is to navigate AI, data science, and research without a clear path. Much of what I learned, I taught myself through independent study and practical work, not just formal training. That experience taught me both the subject matter and the learning process behind it. I want to help others build skills, confidence, and direction more efficiently than they would alone.
