Package Description:

This package is built for military and veteran applicants looking to maximize their chances of acceptance to a top-tier business school by getting end-to-end support as they transition to the civilian corporate world. This package includes the following, tailored to bridge the gap between military leadership and business school expectations: - Initial Kickoff and Planning Session: You'll do a kick-off session where you dive deep on your military background, career goals, potential recommenders, and transition timeline. From there, you'll build a custom MBA plan that maps your military separation or terminal leave timeline to the application process. - School Selection: You will work with your coach to put together a list of best-fit schools based on your profile, post-MBA career goals, and the strength of their veteran networks and Yellow Ribbon benefits. - Application Strategy: You will talk in-depth with your coach about your points of differentiation to ensure your unique military accomplishments stand out from other applicants. - The "Demilitarized" MBA Resume: You'll completely rework your military resume, translating jargon, acronyms, and operational commands into civilian leadership language that is easily understood by admissions committees. - Recommender Selection: Military supervisors (COs, XOs, NCOs) are generally supportive but often unfamiliar with the MBA process. You will talk through your best recommender options to choose the right mix of advocates. - Recommender Preparation: You will work with your coach to build comprehensive "Recommender Prep Docs" that teach your military recommenders how to write a business-oriented recommendation rather than a standard military evaluation report. - Recommender Support: If needed, your coach can work directly with your recommenders to guide them on the right track, providing feedback to ensure their letters effectively highlight your strengths and experiences. - Essay Brainstorming: You will do a deep dive into your operational and leadership experiences, pulling out key themes like crisis management, teamwork, and global perspective to build compelling narratives that will resonate with admissions committees. - Essay Editing: After crafting your narrative, your coach will polish and edit until the essays are ready for submission, offering unlimited rounds of feedback to ensure maximum impact. - Activities & Interests and Awards & Honors: You'll work with your coach to select and polish the right command collaterals, deployment achievements, military medals, and civilian volunteer work. - Final Review: Your coach will perform a final review of all application materials, ensuring your military service, essays, and short answers align seamlessly into a cohesive civilian career pitch. - Interview Preparation: When you receive interview invites, you'll run through mock interviews to help you translate the briefing style you developed in the military to a conversational, executive tone. - Waitlist Strategy (if applicable): If you're waitlisted, your coach will guide you through a targeted action plan to improve your chances of admission before deadlines hit. To summarize, you are drafting an experienced admissions expert onto your team to act as your transition advisor, ensuring your military impact is perfectly understood by top-tier business schools.

Military & Vet Applicants | 10+ T15 Admits | Army SOF Vet | Stanford MBA/MS

Since joining Leland, I've coached military applicants into Harvard (2x), Stanford (2x), Columbia, LBS, Duke, and UVA (the last two with scholarships). That includes one Army applicant with a 3.2 GPA and below-average GRE who earned dual admission to Harvard and Stanford. Prior to Leland, I mentored dozens of transitioning veterans into every M7 school. I know the challenges of applying while still in the military because I did it. I was admitted to Stanford, MIT, and Berkeley while on deployment, doing networking calls on a NIPR phone and submitting applications over satellite comms. If you work with me, you won't need to explain to your coach the difference between enlisted and officer, what a TS/SCI is, or what it means to ETS. I support applicants through every stage of the process: school selection, test prep, essays, and interviews. Most importantly, I'll help you translate your military experience into language that resonates with admissions committees and build a clear, compelling post-MBA narrative.
