Gun’s Capital Markets & Trading Qualifications

Experience level: Manager
30+ people coached for Capital Markets & Trading
I’m qualified to coach in Investor Relations because I bring 4+ years of hands-on experience working at the core of capital markets communication and senior leadership decision-making. I’ve worked in Investor Relations roles at listed and capital-markets-active companies such as Adler Group and HomeToGo, where I partnered directly with CFOs, CEOs, and senior management on quarterly and annual reporting, earnings preparation, investor presentations, refinancing communication, and strategic capital-markets messaging. My work involved using professional IR tools and data platforms, coordinating with advisors, and engaging with equity and debt investors, sell-side analysts, and rating agencies on a regular (often weekly) basis. This day-to-day exposure gives me a deep understanding of what strong IR teams actually do, from owning the numbers and narrative to handling difficult investor questions and market volatility. I now coach candidates targeting Investor Relations, Capital Markets, Treasury-adjacent, and Corporate Finance roles, including professionals transitioning from investment banking, consulting, FP&A, and strategy. My coaching style is direct, honest, and high-standards. I focus on financial storytelling, capital structure clarity, earnings logic, and executive-level communication, not surface-level interview prep. If you want real IR guidance grounded in real IR work, I’d be happy to help.

About Gun
Global Strategy & Finance Mentor | Investor Relations Professional | Ex-Investment Banker, CVC and Strategy Consultant | 7+ Years International Experience I’m Gun Vardhan Gupta, a Strategy & Finance professional with over 7+ years of international experience across Western Europe (Germany, France, UK, Poland) and Asia (Singapore, India). My career has taken me through the worlds of investment banking, strategy consulting, corporate venture capital, and investor relations, giving me a unique perspective on how top firms think about talent, performance, and growth. 🚀 My Professional Journey I’ve had the opportunity to work with and advise some of the world’s most demanding organizations: 1. Investor Relations & Capital Markets (Adler Group, HomeToGo): Partnered with global investors, analysts, and advisors on refinancing, asset disposals, and quarterly reporting. Built board-level decks, financial models, earnings materials, and Q&A scripts for C-suite leadership. 2. Corporate Strategy & Venture Capital (RTL Bertelsmann Group, Citi, PwC): Supported M&A, market entry, and investment evaluations, delivering strategic insights directly to executive leadership teams. 3. Investment Banking (Société Générale, Morgan Stanley): Developed financial models, valuations, and pitchbooks for live M&A and capital markets transactions, learning first-hand what elite firms expect from candidates. 4. Early Career Foundations (Procter & Gamble, TCS): Built strong fundamentals in financial planning, digital transformation, and go-to-market strategy. 🎯 How I Help You I now combine my global corporate experience with ethical, transparent, and outcome-focused mentorship. Through GradBrew and 1-on-1 coaching, I’ve mentored 350+ students and young professionals, helping them with: 1. Higher-education planning (MiM, MBA, specialized masters) 2. CV & profile positioning for top firms 3. Interview and case study preparation 4. Career transitions across consulting, finance, and strategy I don’t believe in shortcuts or scripted advice. Every session is personalized, honest, and grounded in real hiring expectations, so you walk away with clarity, confidence, and a strong professional standard. If you’re looking for practical guidance from someone who’s been on both sides of the table, I’d be happy to work with you. I see each engagement not just as a coaching session, but as a chance to empower the next generation of talent with clarity, confidence, and the right standards of professionalism.
Why do I coach?
I coach because it gives me a deep sense of purpose to give back ethically. In my early days, I never had a coach or mentor to lean on. Every step of my higher education journey, from researching programs, writing essays, preparing application and visa documents, to finding international internships and landing roles in investment banking and consulting, I figured out entirely on my own, through hours of hard work and persistence. That experience taught me not just the mechanics of applications and recruiting, but also how admissions committees and recruiters really think. I now enjoy sharing those insights with others, in a structured and detailed way, so that my clients don’t have to navigate the process blindly like I once did. Every satisfied client reinforces my confidence and gives me genuine self-satisfaction. Coaching also allows me to grow with every engagement. I learn from each student’s story, their challenges, and achievements, while also staying close to evolving trends in education and careers. At my core, I am also a reformist. I strongly believe in raising the standards of this coaching industry by fighting against “quick fix” consultants and self-proclaimed experts who misguide students. For me, mentorship is about setting the right ethical standards and ensuring transparency, not ghostwriting or shortcuts. And yes, while the passive income from something I enjoy is welcome, the real reward is the combination of impact, ethics, and continuous growth. That is why I proudly call myself a coach and mentor, not just a friend or advisor.

Education

ESCP Business school
Master in Management (MiM), Finance
2018 - 2021
I completed the flagship Master in Management (Grande École) at ESCP Business School, specializing in Finance and Business Strategy. ESCP’s unique multi-campus model allowed me to study in Paris, France, and Berlin, Germany, earning dual degrees — Master in Management – Grande École (France) and MSc in Management (Germany). During my mandatory gap year, I gained international exposure through internships at Société Générale CIB (Germany), Procter & Gamble (Germany), PwC Strategy& (Singapore), and Morgan Stanley (London). Beyond academics, I was actively engaged in leadership and student initiatives. I was elected Board Member of AGORA, ESCP’s student association across six campuses, served as Senior Ambassador for the MiM programme, and founded the BizTech Society to promote technology’s role in business. I also worked as a Consultant at 180 Degrees Consulting and participated as a Core Member of Start@Europe in Brussels, simulating EU parliamentary processes. These experiences complemented ESCP’s global ranking (#4 worldwide per FT) and its legacy as the world’s first business school (est. 1819, triple-crown accredited).
