Frances’s Career Coaching Qualifications
Experience level: Manager
With 15+ years of experience in UX—spanning B2B, enterprise platforms, and global brands—I’ve led teams, shipped complex tools, and coached designers at all levels. I’ve worked across Fortune 500 companies, built systems from the ground up, and know what it’s like to be the only designer in the room and the one leading the conversation. I’m also an adjunct professor who teaches UX theory and practice, helping students and professionals make real-world leaps in their careers. My coaching style is direct, strategic, and a little bit funny. I don’t do vague advice—I help you identify what’s holding you back, what hiring managers are actually looking for, and how to tell your story with clarity and confidence. Whether you’re early in your UX journey or navigating the jump to lead or principal roles, I’ve been there—and I can help you get where you want to go.

About Frances
Hi, I’m Frances Sun. I’m a Taiwanese UX/UI designer with over 15 years of experience working across tech and entertainment—places like Lenovo, Dell, and now Disney. I originally studied Industrial Design back in Taiwan, which gave me a solid foundation for the kind of work I do now. At Disney, I lead the Ad Platforms team. We’re in charge of the UX for a key sales product that supports channels like ABC and ESPN. Before this, I was at Dell, where I worked closely with engineers to improve how people configure high-end server products. And at Lenovo, I focused on consumer-facing experiences, like PC support software and cloud storage tools.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I’ve been that person—overwhelmed, second-guessing my portfolio, wondering if I belonged in the room. Early in my career, I didn’t have a lot of guidance, so I had to figure things out the hard way. Now, after 15+ years designing for big tech and entertainment companies, I want to make that path less confusing for others. I’m not here to hand out fluff. I’ll help you get clear on your story, sharpen your work, and build the confidence to back it up. Because talent is everywhere—but sometimes you just need someone who’s been through it to show you what’s next.
