I'm based in Europe but keep my calendar open late so US students can easily book afternoon and evening slots in their own time zone. If you don't see a time that works for you, message me — I'm very flexible and happy to open up a slot that fits your schedule.

Filip’s College Qualifications
I study AI and Aerospace Engineering at Stanford. I applied from abroad with no US counselor and wasn’t rejected anywhere I applied. Before that: co-founded Romania’s first spacecraft development team and launched satellites with SpaceX. Engineering roles at Airbus and Tarana Wireless in electrical and RF. I help with the part underneath the application. What to build, which activities are actually worth the time, how to sequence it over a couple of years, and how to position what you already have. For seniors, school list and application strategy.

About Filip
A few years ago, I was a high school student in Bucharest, Romania, with no college counselor, no alumni network, and no roadmap — just a big goal. I taught myself how US admissions work, built my application from scratch, and got into every single school I applied to: Stanford, UC Berkeley M.E.T. (the EECS + Haas dual-degree program), UCLA, and Rice. Today I'm studying Artificial Intelligence and Aerospace Engineering at Stanford. What got me in wasn't perfect stats — it was a profile no admissions officer had seen before. In high school, I co-founded ROM, the first spacecraft development team in Romania, and led us to launching our country's first functional satellites on SpaceX rockets (ROM-2 & ROM-3) — a story covered by the national press. Along the way, I was recruited to work with Airbus on an ESA tender for modular space-mission batteries, led research on morphing aircraft wings, and interned in RF engineering at Tarana Wireless in Silicon Valley. That journey taught me the real playbook of selective admissions: you don't win by checking boxes — you win by building a spiky, authentic profile and telling your story so clearly that the reader can't forget you. That's exactly what I help my clients do, from big-picture strategy (school list, positioning, extracurricular and project planning) to the details that decide outcomes (essays that actually sound like you, activity descriptions, interviews). I know the international side of this process firsthand — navigating it with no US counselors, from a country where almost nobody applies to top American schools — and I love working with builders: students with projects, research, or startups who want to turn what they've made into an unforgettable application. If you're aiming high — especially as an international or STEM applicant — I'd love to help you get there.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I was the applicant with no one to ask. Where I grew up, there were no college counselors, no Stanford alumni to email, and no one around me who had done this before. I had to reverse-engineer the entire process on my own — and while it worked out (5 for 5 on admissions), I know exactly how confusing, stressful, and lonely that road can be, and how close I came to making mistakes that would have cost me everything. Since then, informally guiding my ROM teammates and classmates through their own next steps has become one of the most rewarding things I do. Watching someone realize that their background — wherever they come from, whatever they've built — can become their superpower never gets old. I coach to be the mentor I never had: someone who has actually been through it recently and will give you honest, specific, up-to-date guidance — so you never have to guess alone.
