About Esha
I'm a chemical engineer who ended up at Bain, but the through line is simpler than it sounds. I come from a family of engineers, studied chemical engineering at Cornell, and picked up a business minor on a hunch senior year. It clicked immediately, and a few internships later, it was clear I wanted to solve problems in business, not a lab. I landed at ZS Associates in healthcare consulting after graduation, a natural fit where being analytical was an asset and I could finally dive into the business world I'd become so drawn to. Four years in, I went to Wharton to explore whether healthcare was really my path or if I wanted something broader. I threw myself into trying new things, diving into the digital health space, attending retail club conferences and workshops, and doing a Chief of Staff internship at BioLite, a consumer energy company focused on social impact. Those experiences confirmed what I suspected: I wanted to be a generalist, keep exploring, and see where curiosity took me. So I recruited broadly for MBB, had final rounds at all three firms, and signed with Bain. I'm currently at Bain, where my work sits at the intersection of technology, go-to-market strategy, and private equity. I'm also active in recruiting as an interviewer and recruiting lead. Outside of work, I'm happiest outdoors. West Virginia will do that to you!
Why do I coach?
Growing up in West Virginia, I didn't know many people who had gone to Ivy League schools or top consulting firms, so figuring it out largely fell on me. I knew what I wanted, but the path wasn't obvious and I didn't have many people to ask. When I was applying to business school, I worked with a coach for the first time and it was a revelation. Instead of just trying to write good essays, I slowed down, worked through my own story, and figured out how to articulate what actually made me different. That clarity made everything easier, and honestly made the whole process a lot more enjoyable. Since then I've coached colleagues, classmates, and friends through MBA applications and MBB recruiting, and I genuinely love it. There's nothing quite like watching someone realize their background is an asset, not a liability, or nail a case they'd been stuck on for weeks! I coach because I know what it feels like to want something and not have a clear roadmap. If I can be that resource for someone else, especially someone who's figuring it out on their own, that matters a lot to me. I'd love to help you get there!
