This package is designed for high school students targeting multiple competitive summer programs who want expert essay coaching from the very start. As a Fulbright Scholar, a member of Wake Forest University's Fulbright Campus Committee, and a coach whose clients have won over $1.5 million in scholarships and fellowships, I bring both insider knowledge and proven coaching expertise to every session. Here's how we'll spend our time together: • Application Strategy: We'll review the programs you're targeting, then map out a clear plan for your essays and supporting materials across multiple applications. • Essay Brainstorming & Outlining: We'll identify the stories and ideas that will make your applications memorable, then build outlines that give your essays structure and direction. • Essay Review (multiple rounds): We'll work through your drafts together, sharpening your ideas, strengthening your voice, and making sure each draft is even stronger than the last. This package is ideal for students applying to programs like Yale Global Scholars, Research Science Institute (RSI), Telluride (TASS), Wharton Global Youth Program, Kenyon Review Young Writers, Iowa Young Writers' Studio, and Governor's School programs.

This package can be delivered through a combination of live video sessions and asynchronous coaching. Live sessions are conducted via Zoom and typically run 50-60 minutes. If desired, we'll create a plan for how best to incorporate asynchronous support and feedback. My coaching style is collaborative and encouraging. I ask a lot of questions, listen carefully, and help you discover and articulate what makes your application uniquely compelling. I believe excellence and encouragement aren't in conflict. Instead, they fuel each other. I create a space where you can brainstorm, draft, and revise without fear of judgment, while holding your work to the highest standard. The result is an application that reflects you at your absolute best.
As with any competitive application process, I cannot guarantee outcomes. However, I can guarantee my full expertise, attention, and commitment to helping you put your best foot forward. Please note that my coaching focuses exclusively on the written components of your application. I'm not able to advise on visa requirements, program logistics, or other non-essay elements of the process.

I earned my doctorate from UNC-Chapel Hill as a member of the Royster Society of Fellows (the university's most selective doctoral fellowship), and have held faculty appointments at UNC-Chapel Hill and UNC School of the Arts. I also serve as an Essay Specialist with College Essay Guy, an industry leader in college admissions coaching.
