Every year, I see high-achieving students grapple with the same challenge. They know they have a compelling story, but struggle to figure out exactly how to tell it. Here's the truth: you're already an expert in your own story. My job is helping you discover how to tell it in a way that makes admissions officers say, "Wow." I'm Dr. Erica, an admissions essay coach and Fulbright Scholar. My clients have gained acceptance to some of the most selective undergraduate institutions in the country, including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, UPenn, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, Columbia, UChicago, Georgetown, Northwestern, and UMichigan. I've also guided students to win over $1.5 million in scholarships and awards. I earned my doctorate from UNC-Chapel Hill as a member of the Royster Society of Fellows (the university's most selective doctoral fellowship), and have held faculty appointments at UNC-Chapel Hill and UNC School of the Arts. I also serve as an Essay Specialist with College Essay Guy, an industry leader in college admissions coaching. I work with students on: • Common App, Coalition, and QuestBridge: personal statement, activities list, and supplemental essays • UC PIQs • Supplemental essay strategy: making sure you have enough strong ideas to fuel every essay (not just your personal statement!) • Project management: building a structured, organized approach to applications My core beliefs: Excellence and encouragement aren't in conflict. Instead, they fuel each other. I create a space where you can brainstorm, draft, and revise without fear of judgment, while holding your work to the highest standard. The result is essays that reflect you at your absolute best. I offer a free 15-minute intro call—let's talk about your college applications and how we can tackle them together!

About Erica

Strong writing can open doors, win awards, and transform lives. As your coach, these are exactly the results I'm working toward for you. I'm Dr. Erica, an admissions coach, Fulbright Scholar, and published author with a Ph.D. from UNC–Chapel Hill. I've guided hundreds of students through the process of applying to college, medical school, law school, graduate school, and prestigious scholarships and fellowships. What sets me apart: I've been on both sides of the process. As a member of Wake Forest University's Fulbright Campus Committee, I interview and evaluate candidates, giving me firsthand knowledge of what moves a selection committee. Recent client successes: • $1.5M+ in scholarships and awards won, including Fulbright awards, full-ride QuestBridge scholarships, and the Paul & Daisy Soros Scholarship for New Americans • Medical schools: Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, WashU, Duke, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest • Undergraduate institutions: Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Princeton, Cornell, Columbia, University of Chicago, Georgetown, Northwestern • Graduate schools: University of Chicago, London School of Economics, Wake Forest, Duke • Law schools: University of Michigan, Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, George Washington, Pepperdine My approach is tailored to every client and built around your unique voice, vision, goals, and timeline. Whether you're just getting started or refining a final draft, I bring clarity, structure, and purpose to every stage of the application process. I offer a free 15-minute introductory call—let's talk about where you are, where you want to go, and how I can help you get there!

Why do I coach?

My mentors’ guidance helped me access transformative opportunities, including receiving UNC's most prestigious doctoral fellowship, teaching English abroad as a Fulbright Scholar in the Czech Republic, and obtaining a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship sponsored by the U.S. State Department. Those experiences inspire the coaching I provide today. In a world full of part-time editors and generalist advisors, I strive to bring strategic, high-impact guidance grounded in academic excellence and real-world experience.
