I have been a PA for ~13 years; graduating PA school at 23 years of age. I have experience in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, military medicine, healthcare administration and PA advocacy. I hold the ranks of Associate Professor in the U.S. and Visiting Professor in the UK. I currently work for a hybrid PA program where I lead on all remediation/student success/PANCE preparation efforts. About Dr. Shane Ryan Apperley

I am an experienced, doctorally-prepared, UK-trained, Physician Associate (PA) with a background in clinical medicine, pharmacy, governance, research, higher education administration, education commissioning, operations management and military medicine. I am a veteran, first-time college student, and graduated PA school at 23 years of age. I have won awards for my clinical practice, and currently hold faculty rank in both the U.K. and U.S. I have also previously served as an Assistant Dean of Students for one of the largest DO schools in the continental US.

Why do I coach?

I didn’t have anyone to guide me when applying to PA school. I was young (20 years of age), immature, and in need of direction. Despite the many successes in my career, I have made mistakes that I hope to help others avoid.
