Collyn’s MBA Qualifications

Collyn has helped clients get into these schools:

Welcome to my profile! I am a recent Harvard MBA graduate and incoming McKinsey consultant with a background in engineering. I am eager to share insights and advice from my own admissions journey, which I navigated without formal coaching. After applying to Harvard Business School through the deferred 2+2 admissions process, I submitted two additional deferral applications, extending my gap to the maximum four-year allotment. My professional journey includes co-founding a medtech venture at Johns Hopkins, analyzing global medical device markets at PATH, and interning as a Summer Associate at McKinsey & Company. Whether you need guidance on application strategy, essay writing, or interview preparation, I'm here to help you craft a compelling narrative. Reach out to me so we can tackle this process together!

About Collyn

Hi! I'm Collyn. I recently earned my MBA from Harvard Business School and am an incoming MBB consultant. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, where incredible teachers and mentors inspired me to attend Duke University. There, I studied biomedical engineering, driven by a passion for improving health outcomes. This passion led me to earn an MS from Johns Hopkins University and co-found a medical device venture. I started my career as an R&D engineer at Boston Scientific in their electrophysiology division. Within a year, I was appointed Technical Lead for a new cardiac mapping system software, overseeing its development from early stages to commercialization. My journey underscores the importance of dedicated mentorship and the transformative power of education. I'd be honored to help you in your own journey. I specialize in preparing candidates for graduate school admissions. Please send me a message -- I'm looking forward to working with you!

Why do I coach?

I believe that talent is equally distributed, while opportunity is not -- this is why I support Leland. Coaching lifts people up to the next level. I know this firsthand, because training and encouragement from teachers, mentors, and friends propelled me from a public school in a small town in Wisconsin to a Harvard MBA. I'm grateful for the support I've received and humbled by the understanding that I couldn't have done it alone. I'm eager to pay it forward - let me help you prepare for some of the most challenging and impactful decisions of your life!
