Colin’s Law School Qualifications
10+ people coached for Law School
Hi, I am Colin Robinson, a J.D. Candidate at Harvard Law School. As a first-generation student, I uniquely understand how intimidating and discouraging the law school admissions process can be. This is especially true for students from underprivileged backgrounds or "less well-known colleges and universities." Over time, however, I realized that with the right mindset and game plan, students of all kinds could apply to and succeed at elite institutions such as Harvard. Before applying to law schools, I understood the importance of giving yourself enough runway to build a persuasive narrative demonstrating the connection between your accomplishments and your commitment to pursuing a legal career. Understanding this concept was particularly important for students like myself, who applied to law school intending to matriculate immediately after college. In addition, working with a law student to review my application helped me understand the importance of having a trusted advisor review my application materials. It also helped me understand the importance of having a lifelong mentor. Consequently, I have paid it forward by gaining extensive experience mentoring undergraduate students and law students through the admissions process and job application process, respectively, by reviewing essays, cover letters, and resumes, choosing recommenders, leading Q&A sessions with students and legal practitioners, pairing students with additional mentors in my network, and answering questions. I have also assisted applicants in developing a persuasive narrative by recommending courses, extracurriculars, and work experiences that demonstrate interests and qualities admissions officers value in applicants. As a coach, I also look forward to helping applicants succeed beyond the application process by answering questions about law school and the legal profession, enhancing networking strategies, connecting students to individuals in my network, and much more. Let's make your dreams and aspirations a reality!
