Stanford MBA & Wharton Grad | Nontraditional Background

Hello! My name is Christian Urrutia and I am a recent MBA Graduate from Stanford's Graduate School of Business. I coach people to help them get into the MBA program of their dreams, with a special focus on nontraditional applicants and the LGBTQ+ community. My path to an MBA was not a straightforward one. Before business school, I was an activist. I founded and ran a nonprofit advocacy organization that worked to increase access to HIV prevention drugs. After a few years, I realized that I needed to build my own skills so I could scale impactful organizations, and business school seemed like the perfect place to do that. There was only one problem. Well, a couple of problems. First, I didn't know anyone who had gotten an MBA. I had no idea what the admissions process looked like or what schools were looking for. I was certain none of the admissions offices would understand my work experience and terrified they'd write me off immediately for my below-average GPA. I was so convinced I wasn't going to get in anywhere that I almost didn't apply at all. That is why I am an MBA admissions coach. I know there are thousands of people just like me who see the MBA admissions process as opaque and mysterious. I'm here to demystify the whole thing. I'll help you tailor your story, resume, recommenders, and essays to your dream programs. My coachees have gotten into Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Booth, and more.
