Christian’s Medical School Qualifications
Hi! My name is Chris Jung, and I'm a fourth-year medical student at Tufts University. Having successfully navigated both the college and medical school admissions processes, I understand the importance of building applications that tell a cohesive, impact story that remains true to you. At Vanderbilt, I led our Pre-Medical Honor Society and mentored students on MCAT prep and application strategy. At Tufts, I guided high school students through the college admissions process and helped them construct their applications to showcase their unique experiences and strengths. I take pride in helping applicants find their voice, refine their narratives, and present their most authentic selves with confidence.

About Christian
Hi, my name is Chris, and I am a fourth-year medical student at Tufts University. Prior to this, I attended Vanderbilt University, where I graduated with a degree in Biochemistry. I am passionate about mentorship and teaching, and I have been working with students of all levels since my time at Vanderbilt to help identify and reach their professional goals. Whether your goal is to get into your top undergraduate university or medical school, I am confident I can help you get there!
Why do I coach?
Throughout my journey to medical school, mentors played a defining role—offering guidance, encouragement, and honest feedback when I needed it most. Their support helped me find direction and confidence in moments of uncertainty. That experience inspired me to pay it forward. Coaching gives me the chance to offer the same mentorship I have so often relied on, and I my goal now is to help students find clarity, believe in their potential, and reach their goals with confidence.
Work Experience

Research Fellow
University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine

Current standardized hearing assessments are limited to English and Spanish; however, 10% of the US working population self-identifies as limited English proficient, and this number is continuing to grow. We aim to employ non-linguistic stimuli to remove the need for mutual language understanding between patient and clinician and subjective clinician interpretation, improving patient counseling and ultimately patient outcomes.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Vanderbilt University
January 2017 - May 2020
Conducted research in membrane trafficking proteins, whose dysfunction is implicated in diseases such as Alzheimer's and cystic fibrosis. Utilized isothermal titration calorimetry, GST-pulldown assays, and crystallography.
Research Fellow
UNIVERSITÄT LEIPZIG
May 2019 - August 2019
Investigated interactions between GPR1 and chemerin, a protein implicated in various metabolic and inflammatory diseases. I conducted bioluminescence resonance energy transfer assays to analyze protein interactions.
Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow
University of Iowa
May 2017 - August 2017
Investigated the effects of histone acetylation on histone-DNA interactions. Employed a novel technique to produce acetyllysine analogs.
Education
Tufts University School of Medicine
MD, Medical Doctor
2020 - 2025
During my time at Tufts University, I have worked in multiple mentoring/teaching roles. I was president of our Tutoring Club, where we conducted 1-on-1 tutoring sessions at a local inner city school. Over time, I was able to develop relationships with many of the students and was asked to help them in the college admissions process. I worked with students to identify their goals and devise a plan to reach them. Whether through SAT/ACT prep during out weekly sessions, or brainstorming essay concepts over Zoom, my goal was to let the students know that their goals were my goals and that we would do our best to achieve them.
Vanderbilt University
BA, Biochemistry and Chemical Biology
2016 - 2020
During my time at Vanderbilt, I served as president of our Pre-Medical Honor Society. In that role, I helped peers and mentees prepare for the MCAT and build their medical school applications. Specifically, I looked to refine personal statements and frame applications in a way that emphasized strengths (i.e. research, service, unique interests) and highlighted what makes each student a good candidate.
