About Catherine
With over 20 years of experience as a nurse practitioner, Catherine is an expert in her field. A graduate of Vanderbilt University's School of Nursing, she obtained a Masters of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice. After a year of working as an RN, Catherine decided she wanted to specialize in oncology, more specifically as a nurse practitioner in bone marrow transplant. During her years in the bone marrow transplant unit she was known for placing great emphasis on the education of her patients, families, and nursing students. Throughout the years, she also discovered that she was passionate about nursing education and mentoring. As an Assistant Clinical Professor at Emory School of Nursing, she prides herself on advising her students on how to succeed as a nursing student, giving career guidance, and preparation for the NCLEX.
Why do I coach?
Coaching nurses matters to me because I believe in the transformative power of education and mentorship. With 20 years of experience as a nurse practitioner, I understand the challenges and rewards of the profession. By coaching, I can share my extensive knowledge and experiences, helping new nurses navigate their careers and achieve their full potential. My journey—from the bedside to the classroom as a professor—has equipped me with the expertise to coach and guide healthcare professionals at all stages of their careers. I specialize in coming along side nurses as they navigate the high stress demands of nursing school, prepare to master the NCLEX, and maneuver the complexities and challenges of advancement in their practice and confidently pursue new opportunities. My coaching approach comes from a place of vulnerability, personalized, strategic, and rooted in a passion for fostering growth and excellence in the nursing profession.
