About Bryce
Born into a family deeply rooted in service, I traversed the United States and Europe, nurtured by a father serving in the Air Force and parents dedicated to ministry and music education. This diverse upbringing instilled a profound sense of duty and a penchant for setting ambitious goals, ultimately guiding me toward the halls of the United States Military Academy at West Point. There, inspired by my father’s legacy and driven by a desire to lead under pressure, I pursued a degree in Defense Strategic Studies, graduating with honors and embarking on a distinguished military career. My military service has been characterized by a series of strategic and impactful roles, from leading platoon operations on the Southern Border—where my team played a crucial role in national security—to commanding a company at the National Security Agency in Texas. My leadership contributed to the publication of 18 intelligence reports for the Presidential Daily Brief, reflecting my capacity to influence national security at the highest levels. Beyond tactical achievements, I have also excelled in academia, serving as a Professor of Military Science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I spearheaded innovative programs and significantly increased enrollment and community engagement. I am pursuing an MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, specializing in Finance and Behavioral Science. This new academic venture aligns with my post-military career goal of excelling in Private Wealth Management. My diverse experiences—from high-stakes military operations to strategic educational leadership—equip me uniquely to coach aspiring students through the admissions process. My coaching philosophy is rooted in a commitment to strategic planning and personalized mentorship. I leverage my extensive experience in leadership, strategic communication, and education to offer a tailored coaching experience that addresses each student's unique challenges and aspirations. Through my guidance, I aim to empower students to navigate the complexities of admissions processes confidently, ensuring they are not only prepared but also enriched by the journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
Why do I coach?
Coaching holds a profoundly personal significance for me, rooted in my own experiences during one of the most challenging yet transformative periods of my life. While serving as an Active Duty Officer at the NSA, supervising over 250 soldiers and civilians in operations critical to national security, I faced the daunting task of applying to top-tier MBA programs. My responsibilities were immense, involving sensitive intelligence work that demanded exactitude and urgency. Amidst this demanding role, I also needed to prepare for standardized tests, craft essays, secure recommendations, and manage my physical and mental well-being—all while fulfilling my duties as a spouse. During this intense period, the guidance of a dedicated coach was instrumental in my success. My coach provided expertise in navigating the complex admissions process, essential support, and an understanding of the unique challenges I faced as a military officer. His mentorship was crucial in helping me balance my professional responsibilities with my personal aspirations, ultimately contributing to my admission to a prestigious MBA program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Inspired by the profound impact of this mentorship and my experiences in the military, I am passionately committed to coaching because I believe in democratizing access to graduate education. I coach to pay it forward, employing the same skills and techniques that were so vital to my own journey. There is immense fulfillment in helping others achieve the best versions of themselves, guiding them through their own unique challenges and toward their educational goals. For me, coaching is more than a profession—it is a way to contribute to others' success and ensure they have the support they need to navigate the complexities of graduate admissions. By sharing the strategies that helped me, I aim to empower aspiring students, especially those aiming for top-tier MBA programs, to realize their full potential and transform their lives through education.
