I spent 15+ years inside two of the most complex, matrixed organizations in the world. At The Walt Disney Company and NBCUniversal, I worked directly with managers across business units, helping them understand what their people needed and giving them the tools to actually lead well in their roles. Not in theory, but in practice, with real teams, real stakes, and real accountability attached. What I learned in those environments is that most managers often struggle because no one ever prepared them for the responsibility of leading people. They were promoted because they were good at their jobs, and then handed a team and expected to figure it out. I've seen extensively what can happen when managers don't get the support they need, and what becomes possible when that support is in place. The difference shows up in retention numbers, team performance, and how people felt about coming to work. I founded The Employee Experience Edit to bring that same level of rigor to smaller organizations that don't have the infrastructure of a Disney or an NBCUniversal, but deserve the same quality of thinking. My approach is direct, practical, and grounded in what the research says moves the needle on manager effectiveness and employee experience. I don't do generic training sessions or recycled content.
