Ash’s Quantitative Finance Qualifications

Coaches professionally

Experience level: Manager

As one of two Career Coaches for the MSCF program at Carnegie Mellon, I helped three cohorts of quant finance students achieve 100% internship rate, with 95% receiving full-time offers by graduation. I also partnered closely with early career teams across hedge funds, asset managers, prop shops, investment banks, fintechs, and consulting firms—giving me firsthand insight into what makes candidates stand out in this space. Now, I coach early-to-mid-career quants (and lots of career changers breaking into the field) to: - Clarify their career direction in quant and close the technical skill gap - Network and rebrand their resume/LinkedIn with confidence - Personalize their search strategy and interview style in a way that represents them best I work with all types of clients, including many who are international, first-generation, neurodivergent, women, or LGBTQ+. If you're looking for someone to help you navigate the full recruitment cycle, refine your message, and adapt when life throws you off track — I’d love to work with you.

About Ash

As a Career Coach, I've worked with over 6,000 clients in the past 12 years - from entry-level college students exploring majors to VPs in project management looking for their next big challenge. I've supported career changers across a number of industries ranging from STEM, finance, healthcare, education, marketing, research, graphic design, public safety, and more - helping them craft compelling resumes and LinkedIn profiles, gain confidence in their interview skills and application strategy, expand their networks in new fields, and clarify their career goals with action items to get there. My favorite role was working as a Quant Career Coach for Carnegie Mellon's MSCF (Computational Finance) program. During my time there, we achieved a 100% internship rate for over 270 students, with 95% of them landing full-time job offers by graduation. I also acted as a subject matter expert and content creator in the quant early recruiting space and served on MSCF's Admissions Committee and hiring teams. I love what I do and will geek out over anything career-related. What I don't know, I'll figure it out quickly with the use of AI and/or show you how to find your own answer. Together, we will: - clarify what you want (and don't), - tailor your brand for your target role (from resume to LinkedIn to the interview), - grow your network, - and make a plan to gain the skills and experience you need to get in the door. I'm here to guide you every step of the way on your career journey, keep you on track, and help you pivot as often as needed.

Why do I coach?

As someone who is nonbinary, has ADHD and a TBI, and spent most of their twenties balancing part-time jobs to earn a license in mental health counseling... I know how easy it is to burn out when chasing the wrong goals, roles, workplaces, or even just trying to survive under difficult management and salaries that don't feel worth it. Many of those times, I internalized my work situation - telling myself I was the one that's broken, blaming myself for not being able to do something that looked so easy for everyone else. However, in other types of roles (especially in career services), I thrived and my clients could see the benefits quickly from my coaching, workshops, and resources. Not all people are suited for all jobs - and it's not a matter of how much you want it or how hard you try. So I work with clients to lean into their natural strengths, interests, abilities, and needs - rather than conform to what might work for someone else.
