Hello! I have extensive experience personally applying for and coaching others through various scholarships. About Anoma
Before coaching full time, I was chief of staff to a C-level executive at UNICEF USA, advising on team performance, political strategy, and org culture. My coaching is informed by past experience as an interfaith (secular) chaplain at California's #1 hospital, where I counseled people through unthinkable medical situations. For instance, I talked an Emmy-winning producer through her identity & career crisis following a terminal cancer diagnosis. I am passionate about helping people through leadership challenges, major transitions, graduate school, and finding the balance between work and self-care-- especially given my personal experience with burnout, complex family systems, parenthood, and pivoting between the public & private sectors. I am certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy, have taken coursework in Buddhist counseling, have 17 years of meditation experience, and did clinical pastoral education at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Now a US citizen, I grew up in 5 countries and understand what it's like to apply to the US for higher education and navigate the immigration process.
Why do I coach?
When I was seven, I created a business card. My title: "Helper." I coach because I know what it's like to feel lost and disconnected -- and what it's like to find purpose and move forward with a plan. Having had the privilege of attending elite institutions and overcoming physical and mental burnout, I yearn to give back. I love to create spaces in which people can truly feel seen, are empowered to do their inner work, and move towards both excellence and wellbeing. I would not be where I am today without the work of mentors who created such spaces for me.
