About Amrit
I’ve switched industries, functions, and countries more times than I can count. Now I help others do the same. I work with people who feel stuck, are considering a pivot, or just don’t know what comes next. Because in my experience, the hardest part isn’t fixing your resume or preparing for interviews. It’s figuring out what you actually want, and having the conviction to go after it. I’ve been at that crossroads myself. --- 9 times !!! I started coaching as a Career Coach for Consulting at Chicago Booth, where I worked with 150+ students exploring consulting and broader career pivots. To date, I have helped 30+ people pivot or move into high-growth roles in Consulting (MBB, Kearney, and Big 4), Venture Capital, Tech/Ecommerce, Investment Banking/Management, Consumer/Retail, and Media. My career has taken me across banking, management consulting (McKinsey), e-commerce, tech startups, family businesses, the military, and physical commodity trading (yes, sometimes one does things that make no sense :)). Each transition came with uncertainty, but also a clearer sense of what I wanted. Along the way, I also built AmritAdmit, where I’ve helped 300+ candidates get into schools like HBS, Stanford, Wharton, Booth, and Kellogg, and secure $10M+ in scholarships. What started as a side experiment at McKinsey grew into something much bigger. Why do I coach?
Every few weeks, someone asks me, “Why are you still doing this?” - usually while I’m 9 drafts deep into someone’s resume at midnight, a few too many espressos, and replaying in my mind my client's top achievements and how to make them stand out on paper. And my answer? Because every client is a jigsaw puzzle. Your resume says consulting, your heart says entrepreneurship and your GPA says, “We don’t talk about that.” My job is to find patterns and make them make sense, and to turn your journey into a story that makes employers sit up, not snooze On a more serious note, I do this because I needed someone like me when I applied. Someone who doesn’t sugarcoat but also doesn’t ghost you. Someone who tells you, “This story’s flat!” and helps you turn it into something unforgettable. Think of me as the brutally (but delivered nicely) honest friend (why do you think it says "No BS" on my website). That’s why I keep it personal. No handoffs. It’s you and me, figuring it out together. One rollercoaster ride and way too many Google Docs at a time. And yes, I love underdogs. Give me your “I switched industries twice, and my parents still don’t understand what I do”. Watching those rare cases land their dream jobs gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling that, honestly, not even my mom’s biryani can compete with.
