I’m deeply familiar with what makes a college application stand out, not just on paper but in how a story is told. I work closely with each student to ask thoughtful, intentional questions that help them reflect on their experiences, clarify their goals, and shape a narrative that feels both genuine and compelling. Although I am new to formal coaching on Leland, I have previously supported dozens of students informally over the years. I meet each student where they are in the essay drafting process, whether they are in the idea-generation phase or the revision phase. Personally, I have had a 100% success rate in my undergraduate and graduate admissions cycles. I believe this was possible because I have a nuanced understanding of what admissions committees truly look for. I want to pass this knowledge forward by being a resource for others navigating what can often feel like an isolating and opaque process. My goal is to make the experience feel more thoughtful and empowering, while keeping your voice and values at the center of it all.

About Amisha
Hi there, thanks for stopping by my profile! My name is Amisha Kapur, and I'm a JD/MBA candidate at the University of Pennsylvania passionate about creating change in the women's health space. I grew up in sunny San Jose, California, but also consider Chicago my second home. I lived there for seven years, including my time as an undergrad at the University of Chicago, and still feel incredibly connected to the city. Before grad school, I worked as a consultant for EY-Parthenon (Ernst & Young), where I evaluated health-tech investment opportunities for private-equity clients. This experience really shaped the way I think about how business and policy/law intersect, especially as it pertains to equity and access in healthcare. For fun, I love reading historical fiction, spending slow mornings at the farmers market, and doing all sorts of arts & crafts. My latest obsession is embroidery, though it is currently in strong competition with my long-term pottery painting stint :) If you're curious to learn more or would like to learn more about how I can best support you, feel free to schedule a free intro call through my profile! Looking forward to connecting with you soon.
Why do I coach?
The application process often feels deeply individualistic, but none of my success was achieved alone. I credit so much of it to the mentors who supported my along the way, many of whom I found through Leland or cold outreach on LinkedIn. Their generosity shaped not only my outcomes, but also my approach to mentorship. I know how difficult it can be to get honest, actionable advice during such a high-stakes and often confusing process. I feel grateful that I have developed an eye for what actually matters in an application. My goal as a coach is to help you cut through the noise, understand what really needs to shift in your strategy, and tell a story that truly resonates with your reader.
