About Alec

I specialize in helping underdogs break into the world’s most competitive schools and firms—because I’ve lived that journey myself. At 35 years old, with a 2.85 undergraduate GPA, I earned admission to The Wharton School, where I became Veterans Club President, a McNulty Leadership Fellow, and a member of the boxing and rugby teams. From there, I joined McKinsey & Company as an Associate—after first being rejected for an Analyst role—and was selected for the Firm’s elite Private Equity practice, where I worked on multiple due diligence projects. I also was case interview trained and gave multiple first-round interviews to candidates Beyond my personal career path, I’ve dedicated myself to opening doors for others. I served as CEO of Service to School, a nonprofit that helps veterans gain admission to top universities. I also wrote "Breaking Business School: The Savvy Veteran’s 10-Step Guide to MBA Success," a practical roadmap for applicants from non-traditional backgrounds. My coaching is grounded in real experience: overcoming setbacks, rewriting the narrative, and competing successfully against candidates with more conventional pedigrees.
