About Ahab
Originally from California, Ahab graduated from Harvard University, where he majored in Chemistry and Neurobiology and minored in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. He later pursued graduate study at the University of Michigan. Ahab brings over eight years of experience in college admissions counseling, a decade of teaching, and six years of research to his work with students. He has supported applicants in gaining admission to some of the most selective colleges and universities in the United States, including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, UC Berkeley, the University of Michigan, Williams, and Swarthmore. Alongside his admissions work, Ahab has a strong background in education and mental health. He founded Blue Talks, a non-profit dedicated to adolescent mental health, and served as President of the Education Bridge Institute (EBI), an organization focused on translating research-based educational practices into the classroom. In higher education, he has taught a wide range of courses at Harvard, including physics, neuroscience, calculus, and the university’s renowned computer science course, CS50.
Why do I coach?
Ahab’s goal when working with families and students is to combine rigorous strategy with genuine care. He knows that the admissions process can often feel intimidating or overwhelming, and he is dedicated to guiding students through it with clarity and confidence. By helping students identify their unique strengths and craft compelling narratives, he ensures they make thoughtful choices that align with their backgrounds and aspirations, ultimately thriving at the institutions best suited to their ambitions.
