I went to Princeton, then won a Marshall Scholarship to Oxford, and was admitted to Harvard Law two years early through its Junior Deferral Program. I have spent the last three years at Write Track Admissions helping students build applications for exactly these kinds of places. Admissions officers at selective universities read thousands of applications that are, on paper, interchangeable. Strong grades, credible activities, competent essays. What separates the file that gets in is not another accolade. It is a clear sense of who the applicant is and what they will do with the place they are asking for. That is the thing most applicants never articulate, and it is what we work on first. What we work on: - A school list that is honest about your chances and still ambitious - The Common App personal essay, from the first idea through to a final draft that sounds like you - Supplemental and "Why us" essays, which is where most applications are actually decided - Your activities list and honours, written to show scale and initiative rather than participation - Choosing and briefing recommenders - Interviews, and waitlist strategy if it comes to that I also work with students applying to Oxford, Cambridge and other UK universities, including the personal statement, admissions tests and interview preparation, which the UK system weights very differently to the US. If you are applying on both sides of the Atlantic, I can handle both. Background: Princeton University, School of Public and International Affairs; Marshall Scholar and DPhil candidate at the University of Oxford; JD at Harvard Law School via the Junior Deferral Program. About Hamid
I got into Harvard Law School two years early through the Junior Deferral Program. Since then, I have coached 60+ applicants across college, law, and policy-school admissions, including international applicants, on school selection, essays, and overall application strategy. I studied public policy and international affairs at Princeton and am now a Marshall Scholar and DPhil candidate at the University of Oxford. My own path has not been linear, and I understand how difficult it can be to turn a broad set of interests, experiences, and ambitions into an application that makes sense on the page. The strongest applications make a clear case for one person: the personal statement, résumé, recommendations, and supplemental essays should all point in the same direction. I help clients decide which experiences matter, what those experiences reveal about them, and how to present that story with precision. I work especially well with T20 applicants whose numbers do not tell the full story; Junior Deferral, KJD, 3+3, and other early-admission candidates; international and UK-based applicants to US law schools; and applicants with experiences that do not fit neatly into a conventional narrative. We can work on school-list strategy, personal statements, “Why X” and optional essays, résumés, recommendation strategy, waitlist decisions, and scholarship negotiation.
