I graduated from the University of the Pacific in 3 years with a 4.0 GPA and summa cum laude in my major of Biology and minor of Business Management. My DAT score was in the 99th percentile (26 AA, 25 TS, 26 Biology). I was accepted into Columbia, UOP, and UPenn, and know many students at these schools. I would love to provide my insight and mentorships about the application process and what current students experience at these dental schools. Not only have I helped many of my peers edit their dental and college essays, but I can also provide one-on-one interview advice and practice. I was invited to 7 interviews, chose to attend 6, and was accepted to every single one. On top of that, I served on the Admissions Committee at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where I gained invaluable insight into what admissions teams are really looking for. Now as a practicing dentist, I use both my personal success and behind-the-scenes experience to coach pre-dental students. I’m passionate about helping future dentists refine their applications, master their interviews, and step confidently into the process knowing they have a winning strategy!

My name is Bryan Chai, and I am living proof that persistence, preparation, and the right strategy can lead to success in the competitive world of dental school admissions. I have been through the ups and downs of the application process—not once, but twice. After facing rejection in my first cycle, I completely transformed my approach and was successfully admitted to three dental schools in the 2024-2025 cycle while balancing the rigorous demands of a Master of Biomedical Science program at Roseman University. I know what it takes to stand out and succeed. Every pre-dental student’s journey is different. I am a current dental student at Roseman University - Utah. Before dental school, I graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Biology and minor in Public Health, earning Magna Cum Laude Honors. I also began pursuing a Master of Public Health with a Dental Emphasis from A.T. Still University. I have been tutoring for over five years, helping high school and college students in subjects including Chemistry, Biology, Math, College Algebra, and English. My teaching style brings a patient and thorough approach to make the learning experience understandable and enjoyable! As someone who recently went through the dental school application process myself, I understand the challenges that come with this journey. I want to utilize the skills and knowledge I gained to support pre-dental students and help them get admitted to their top-choice for dental school! I coach because I want to make the dental school application process as comfortable as possible for pre-dental students. I understand the challenges of being a student - juggling between coursework, studying for the DAT, engaging in extracurriculars, and needing to be a well-rounded student, all while preparing dental school applications. When I went through this process, having mentors guide me along the way helped me gain the confidence I needed to succeed. I want to coach other students to pass on the knowledge I gained from my own journey to support those who are in the position that I was once in. Being a coach allows me to combine previous tutoring experiences with my passion of helping students in need. I strive to provide a broadened educational experience to my students, which is geared towards allowing pre-dental students to achieve their goals. As a proud member of the Matthew Cryer Honor Society at Penn Dental, I graduated among the top 10 students in my class, demonstrating my commitment to academic excellence and dedication to the field of dentistry. My academic journey was further distinguished by my induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honors Society, earning National Board Part I Honors, and being selected by my peers as the class graduation speaker. These honors highlight not only my academic achievement but also my ability to lead and inspire others. With my extensive experience crafting successful narratives and interviewing for top-tier Dental, MBA, and MPA programs, I bring a unique perspective to the coaching process. I have a proven track record of helping students navigate the complex admissions landscape, from building compelling personal statements to excelling in interviews. I think one way to develop into a great coach is having completed the pathway before. Having gone through the process of undergraduate preparation for taking the DAT, applying to dental school, interviewing, getting accepted, and then doing well in school to get into an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program. I hope to share this with others!

Rachel Kulchar was born and raised in sunny San Diego. She is a current DDS/PhD student at UCLA and predoctoral fellow with the NIH. Here, she researches how cancer therapies affect the salivary glands. She earned her undergraduate degree from Princeton University, majoring in Chemistry with minors in Global Health & Health Policy and Materials Science & Engineering. With over 20 peer-reviewed publications and experience as a journal reviewer, Rachel brings a deep understanding of academic research and the higher education landscape. She has also served on several national boards focused on research and student recruitment in health-related fields. At UCLA, she has taught undergraduate science courses as a teaching assistant and enjoys mentoring students in both academic and pre-professional pathways. As a college consultant with over a year of experience, Rachel is dedicated to helping students find and gain admission to their best-fit schools. She fosters a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, grow with confidence, and aim high.
