Today, I systematically train candidates on this program, coaching them to think and communicate the way MBB interviewers expect: structured, concise, and decision-oriented. I work with candidates across the full recruiting spectrum, from high-leverage, last-mile prep for those nearing final rounds, to end-to-end interview partnerships covering casing, fit/PEI, resume positioning, and interviewer psychology. I'm Julie, a former Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where I spent more than a decade advising senior executives and leading teams across a broad range of strategic and operational challenges. During my tenure, I progressed from Associate to Partner, giving me firsthand insight into every stage of the consulting career path—from securing an offer to succeeding and advancing within the firm. In addition to my client work, I was deeply involved in BCG's recruiting and talent development efforts. For six years, I served as an interviewer and member of the recruiting committee, evaluating hundreds of candidates across undergraduate, MBA, and experienced-hire recruiting. I was directly involved in assessing candidates and making hiring decisions, giving me a clear perspective on what distinguishes those who receive offers from those who do not. I hold an MBA from The Wharton School, where I was recognized as a Palmer Scholar (top 5% of the graduating class), and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen's University. Hello and welcome to my profile! I have a rather complicated route to where I got today, with a background in management consulting in a variety of subject matters, industries, and countries. For the last few years, I have been developing my skills at a specific (green) Big 4 Consultancy, working in both Washington, DC, and London. Over the years, I have honed in on my interests, passions, and skillsets, moving from audit to financial consulting to human capital consulting, and want to help you do the same! My journey began at PwC, where I developed a strong foundation in public sector consulting, before moving to my current company and trying out both private sector human capital consulting and working internally with our member firms around the world. Over the years, I've successfully coached multiple people in my company, assisting them to find roles internationally as I've done. I'm a former Senior Partner and Head of Recruiting at Bain & Company. I was a second round interviewer across all core schools for years. And I was the Partner who led decisions on all candidate offers for new consultants and ACs. I've interviewed and made offers for hundreds of MBAs and undergrads for full time and summer positions. I also taught an "Introduction to Management Consulting" class at UC Irvine, a "non-core" school before that class, and a "core" school afterwards for the Los Angeles office. The class was basically my custom-made new consultant training - a hand-on, practical introduction to the job, structured to provide as close to a real "first case on the job" applied experience. I led students step-by-step through the process of conducting a strategic full potential diagnostic first-hand, researching companies of their choice and building out a future vision, recommended strategy, set of priority initiatives, change management roadmap. They created Board-ready presentations and delivered them in class, again receiving coaching for consultant-level communication effectiveness. In addition to teaching and immersing them in the new consultant tool-kit, I introduced them to the recruiting process and coached them on proactive, creative ways to get into the interviewing cycle. We practiced mock cases and many students successfully landed jobs at Bain and other top consultancies and strategy depts. Depending on where you are in your pursuit, I'm happy to provide support.
