I specialize in helping ambitious people identify and overturn limiting assumptions and beliefs to make way for change. I've coached people through overcoming imposter syndrome, risk/change intolerance, and fear of failure. My clients are leaders and high performers who are wanting more 'freedom' - sometimes this means considering moves that involve risks or don't fit the traditional narrative: major career pivots, walking away from prestigious opportunities, or choosing the less “safe” option. My approach is rooted in established frameworks—Adult Developmental Theory, Adaptive Leadership, and Immunity to Change, among others. I've received training in leading and managing change from Harvard Kennedy School, Minds at Work, and Cultivating Leadership, and I am currently pursuing my PCC-level ICF coaching certification. Most career coaching is advice-based and about minimizing or managing risk. I help people do something much harder: rebalance your risk appetite and find unconventional ways to take smart risks. My coaching is about rethinking your “negative space" to expand what's possible.

I am qualified to coach in this category because I have spent over 15 years inside high-performing engineering organizations, including senior leadership roles at Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. I have managed engineers and managers at multiple levels, led hiring and promotion decisions, and operated in environments with real pressure, ambiguity, and consequences. I understand how engineering careers actually work in practice, not just in theory, including expectations, performance calibration, organizational politics, and the emotional load that comes with leadership. In addition to my leadership background, I bring formal coaching training and a grounded, structured approach. I do not rely on generic advice or motivational frameworks. My coaching is based on real scenarios, clear thinking, and honest feedback. I help clients understand what is happening in their role, why they may be stuck, and what specific actions will move them forward without burning out or losing themselves in the process.

I spent ten years leading engineering at LinkedIn and Instacart, most recently as Engineering Director at Instacart. I built and led the most core orgs (shopping and growth) at these cutting edge companies, and was promoted five times within 10 years, chaired promotion committees, grew dozens of engineers into strategic leaders, and led AI adoption inside the org. Most of my clients arrive with feedback like "be more strategic," "we need to see more of you at the senior level," "show more executive presence" — and leave with the real read on what's actually being asked at this level, the shift from being seen as a doer to being trusted as a strategic leader, and a leadership style that holds up under pressure without borrowing from someone else's playbook. I coach from pattern recognition across my own five identity rewrites (IC → TL → Manager → Senior Manager → Director), not frameworks I invented in the abstract. I'm rewriting again right now, leaving corporate to build something new. When you describe your situation, I've usually been in some version of it.

As the Air Force Coaching and Mentoring Program Manager, I stood up and scaled one of the largest internal coaching ecosystems in the federal government, growing the program to over 1,500 credentialed coaches and over 13,000 clients across the enterprise.
