The sports industry is one of the most competitive fields to break into, and many candidates approach it the wrong way.
In this session, I will share what actually works when trying to land a job in sports based on my experience working across the National Basketball Association (NBA), NIKE, and sports startups.
I am a Stanford GSB MBA and a sports and entertainment investor and operator with experience across strategy, venture capital, and corporate development. Over the past decade I have built my career at the intersection of sports, business, and media, and have helped students and professionals break into roles across leagues, teams, brands, media companies, and emerging sports technology companies.
I often work with candidates who come from nontraditional backgrounds and are trying to break into competitive, referral driven industries like sports without a conventional path through consulting, banking, or tech. I understand how candidates are actually evaluated and what signals recruiters and hiring managers look for.
In this session we will cover:
• How hiring in the sports industry actually works
• The most effective networking strategies in a referral driven industry
• How to position your resume and story for sports roles
• Common mistakes candidates make when trying to break into sports
• Live Q&A on recruiting, career pivots, and building a career in sports
If you are serious about building a career in sports, this session will give you a practical playbook for navigating the industry. Space is limited so please RSVP to save your spot. Attendees will also receive a short guide on breaking into sports roles.
