About Zain
Thanks for visiting my profile! I am based in Toronto, Canada and am currently in an operational leadership role at Valsoft (vertical market software acquirer; mid-market PE), where I focus on P&L management and value creation initiatives across a few companies in our portfolio. Before this, I worked at Google (partnerships, operations, business development), and started my career in management consulting at Deloitte. I consider myself a lifelong learner, and mentorship - both as a mentor and mentee - has been a critical part of my career journey. I attribute a lot of my success to the people around me who offered to lend a helping hand, and I hope to support others in the same way through this platform--whether that's with navigating career transitions, prepping for interviews, or crafting your story. My coaching style is honest, personable, and actionable. I offer 1:1 coaching for navigating career transitions, interview/resume prep, and general insights applicable to the industries I have had the privilege to work in thus far (strategy consulting, big tech, vertical market software). Why do I coach?
As alluded to above, I owe most of my career success to the few people who took a bet on me in some form--whether that be through giving me a better understanding of myself and more confidence, guiding me to the right opportunities, or helping me excel in the workplace. Leland provides an opportunity for me to be on the other side of that and help folks find success in whatever they are looking to achieve. My goal is to get you to a place where you may no longer need my coaching, but I will remain in your corner well into the future, regardless of the outcome.
