As a management consulting coach, I leverage my extensive experience in recruiting. I completed 117 practice cases during the Fall of ’23, the highest number in my class. I also delivered more than 80 practice cases to my classmates, gaining a reputation for dedication and providing constructive feedback. Additionally, I achieved a 100% conversion rate of interview invitations to offers from top firms such as Bain, BCG, and McKinsey. As the Recruiting Cochair for the Armed Forces Group, I have organized veteran-focused events with more than 15 consulting firms and have provided over 100 practice cases to first-year veterans. About Zachary
I’m a former U.S. Marine Corps officer and Chicago Booth MBA who has coached candidates across MBA admissions and consulting recruiting. I taught case interviewing to University of Chicago undergraduates and led veteran recruiting efforts at Booth, helping candidates translate leadership experience into compelling business narratives. I received offers from Bain, BCG, and McKinsey, and now coach others to navigate the same path with clarity and confidence.
Why do I coach?
Coaching matters to me because I benefited from it myself. When I transitioned from the Marine Corps to business school and into consulting recruiting, mentors helped me understand what strong actually looked like and pushed me to meet that bar. That clarity made a real difference in my outcomes. I also genuinely enjoy this work. I like breaking down complex problems, refining narratives, and helping people build confidence in high-stakes settings. It’s something I’ve spent time developing and take seriously. Coaching gives me the chance to create real impact while working on something I find both challenging and rewarding.
