About Yasmin
I help ambitious, high-potential candidates craft MBA applications that are clear, differentiated, and true to who they are, especially when their paths don’t fit the traditional mold. I started off coaching my siblings. My. brother ended up at Stanford and Harvard Business school and my sister ended up at Yale and Harvard Law School. My love of coaching started there and I've been working with people ever since. My background spans investing, entrepreneurship, and advisory work across Africa, Europe, and the U.S., including working closely with founders, family offices, consultants, and operators navigating complex, high-stakes decisions. I’ve spent years helping people translate unconventional experience into compelling narratives for sophisticated audiences — the exact skill MBA admissions committees are looking for. As a coach, I focus on: - Clarifying your story (not the version you think schools want to hear) - Positioning non-traditional or international experience as an advantage - Sharpening your career logic so your goals feel credible, ambitious, and inevitable - Helping you stand out without sounding forced, generic, or over-polished - I’m especially hands-on with strategy, positioning, and essay architecture — and I’m very honest when something isn’t working. If this is you, I’d be a great coach: - You have a non-traditional background and need help framing your story for the admissions committee - You’re coming from an emerging market and want to translate your experience so it stands out globally - You’re a management consultant looking to pivot and need to differentiate yourself from a crowded pool Additionally, I’m particularly strong if: - You’ve worked in family businesses, family offices, or founder-led environments and struggle to explain your individual impact - You’re an entrepreneur or operator who hasn’t followed a linear corporate path - You have strong experience but a messy narrative — too many roles, geographies, or transitions - You’re aiming for top programs (HBS, GSB, Wharton, INSEAD, LBS, etc.) and need your story to feel both grounded and distinctive - You’re an international candidate worried about being compared unfairly to U.S. or consulting-heavy profiles - You’re ambitious, self-aware, and want a coach who will push your thinking, not just edit your essays
Why do I coach?
I coach at the strategy level first, before essays, before polish. We start by getting clear on your real story: what you’ve actually done, why it matters, and how it connects to where you’re going. From there, I help you position your background so it makes intuitive sense to an admissions committee that’s reading thousands of applications. My coaching is: - Highly strategic and narrative-driven - Focused on differentiation, not perfection - Direct, honest, and efficient - I’ll challenge vague goals, overused tropes, and anything that feels inauthentic. The goal isn’t to sound impressive, it’s to sound inevitable.
