One of the first hires into the corporate development team, tasked with driving growth via acquisitions, investments, strategic partnerships, and new product incubation across the entirety of our business. Saw the company expand internationally, transition into a multi-product business, and experience high growth with revenue tripling and headcount doubling. Responsibilities fell into the following four buckets: 1. Corporate Development / M&A Execution: Led 4+ deals from start to finish across the deal life cycle, including our acquisition of YearEnd to launch our B2B2C Tax Advisory business, our acquisition of Vauban to augment our fund administration offering via SPV's & expand into the European market, and ZenEquity to launch our India cap table presence. Took a look at many more deals, from fund administration to compensation to liquidity. 2. Carta Ventures: Helped lead our venture arm under our corporate venture thesis, writing checks into 5+ companies and LP checks in 30+ emerging managers. Met many more amazing founders & investors. 3. Strategy & Business Operations: Helped define long-term corporate strategy at the company level. Worked with Product & GTM leaders across company to augment strategic thinking and provide buy / build / partner framing. Worked alongside many talented & inspiring people. 4. New Product Incubation: Incubated new products under the office of the CEO, such as our Seed Round Closings product to help founders close their seed rounds quicker and cheaper.
