Tamika’s Transitioning from the Military Qualifications
Experience level: Intern
As a U.S. Army veteran, I understand firsthand that transitioning out of the military is about more than finding your next job. It can mean figuring out who you are professionally outside of the uniform, identifying how your military experience translates into civilian opportunities, and giving yourself permission to pursue a career that may look completely different from the path you started on. My own transition has taken me through higher education, career changes, creative industries, entrepreneurship, and client-facing professional roles. I especially enjoy helping veterans who know they're ready for something different but aren't sure what that “something” looks like yet. Together, we can identify your transferable strengths, explore career and education options, clarify your goals, and build a realistic plan for your next chapter.

About Tamika
I’m an interior designer, project manager, retail professional, entrepreneur, and U.S. Army veteran with experience spanning creative design, client services, sales, project execution, and career development. My path has taken me from military service to higher education and into the design industry, where I’ve worked with clients on everything from individual spaces and material selections to larger design concepts and project planning. I earned my BFA in Interior Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design, building on an associate degree in Interior Design, while also studying business management, entrepreneurship, advertising, and branding. I bring both creative and practical thinking to the people I work with. I’m especially good at helping someone take an idea that feels overwhelming, break it into manageable pieces, identify what matters most, and determine what to do next.
Why do I coach?
I coach because helping people recognize what they’re capable of has always come naturally to me. Long before I considered calling it coaching, I was the person classmates, coworkers, friends, and family came to when they needed another perspective, help developing an idea, preparing for an opportunity, or figuring out their next move. My own career has not followed a perfectly straight line. I’ve transitioned from the military, returned to school, changed industries, built a career in design, worked while completing my education, developed business ideas, and learned how to advocate for myself professionally. I know how valuable it is to have someone who can see possibilities you may not see yet, while also helping you turn those possibilities into an actual plan. That is the kind of support I want to give my clients.
