As a current dental student at The Ohio State University, I have been through the rigorous path of dental school applications. Applying during the mess of COVID I received interviews and acceptances from all of the schools I had applied at ultimately putting me at The Ohio State University. Starting on the journey without any prior family or friends in dental school I had to learn how to do it all and this forced me to find mentors and students along the way.. with getting assistance from so many others I would love to be that source for someone else.

About Shivani
Shivani is a current 3nd year dental student at The Ohio State Univeristy and graduate from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a bioethics certificate. Looking forward to utilizing service, research, and education to become a dentist. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering to promote education, multicultural equality, and health literacy. Throughout her undergraduate years, Shivani was able to utilize her passion for leadership and service to diversify her learning experience. I had the opportunity to apply to multiple dental schools and was able to be accepted into all of my interviewed schools! Since my admission, I have been involved in mentoring pre-dents and dental students on their path to becoming a successful dental students and dentists. I have helped over 50 students across the country students construct personal statements, review and customize AADSAS applications, narrow down dental schools, personalize resumes, and many more
Why do I coach?
As once a confused pre-dental student and no family in dentistry I was in need of guidance and reached out to many dental students. The relationships I developed with those students and mentors made such a drastic difference in my application cycle. I even reached out to them as a current dental student. Using the experiences I learned from them and my personal application cycle experiences I learned that finding my own passions and interests was important to tell my own story. Those conversations and experiences are what empowered me to start my dental Instagram account @riseandfloss for current pre-dental to reach out to for help.
