I am a Partner at AVENIR Unternehmerkapital, a small-cap private equity investor focused on acquiring and developing businesses in the DACH region. In this role, I am responsible for the full transaction cycle - from proprietary deal sourcing and valuation through due diligence, deal structuring and financing to closing and post-acquisition value creation. Prior to AVENIR, I spent over five years as a Principal at Boston Consulting Group, where I specialized in Corporate Finance and Strategy, advising on buy-side transactions, carve-outs, restructurings and commercial due diligences for international private equity clients and large corporates. About Sebastian

I am a former BCG Principal with 6 years of experience in Consulting who just recently left the company and now works in Private Equity. I have worked on 20+ live cases across Europe, Middle East and the US. Prior to leaving BCG, I spent 6 months working from their New York office. Before joining BCG, I worked for 3 years in Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank. During my time at BCG, I have been a Senior Interviewer, conducting more than 300 real recruiting interviews and actively shaping the talent pool by being a first round interviewer who independently decides who advances into the second round. Additionally, I have been a mentor to a pool of younger colleagues from my office and practice area that I have advised on their personal development and future path within the company. In a nutshell: I have profound experience of the Consulting interview process and what it takes to successfully get in and thrive on the job. I have always had a passion for helping others to reach their full potential and goals. I would be more than happy to help you achieve yours, too.

Why do I coach?

While I had an incredible support network of friends and family throughout my career, I am a first generation academic. I have had to find my own path, oftentimes making mistakes that could have been easily avoided or simply not reaching my full potential. There have been many times I have wished that I knew somebody who could give honest and unbiased feedback and practical advice based on their practical experience. As part of my coaching offer and drawing from my years of experience in Consulting and other fast-paced jobs, I am now filling this void for students and young professional looking for such a senior sparrings partner and mentor. I have always enjoyed helping others grow and achieve their dreams and knowing that my experience can help someone avoid the detours I took is the most rewarding part of the work I do today.
