Coach for Underestimated Applicants | Stanford, Google
The admissions game runs on myths. If you've ever assumed — or been told — that you're not the typical candidate for a program you are genuinely passionate about, that assumption is probably wrong. The problem is that conventional admission wisdom relies on data from the average admit, and quietly filters out outlying candidates who would thrive if they applied. I know this firsthand. When I applied to Stanford, I was told I'd be wasting application fees — bad grades, inadequate work experience and publications, and an irrelevant degree from an unknown school in an overrepresented country. I ignored all the noise: to the extent that I skipped official info sessions, avoided the alumni networking, and treated the application purely as an exercise in reflecting on my life and work and articulating what I genuinely wanted. To everyone's surprise, I did get in! So I started talking to other admits across many programs over the years and people who actually make admissions decisions, and I realized something: the entire admissions consulting industry is built on reverse-engineering the average admit. If you're an outlier, it actively works against you. Since then I've helped friends and colleagues navigate their own applications, and what I've seen confirms that outliers who trust their own story outperform the average predictions. Getting into your dream program is the smallest thing I want for you. My goal is to help you see this application as the first step in building a life on your own terms where you are not afraid to seek opportunities unconventionally. If this resonates with you, let’s talk. If you book an intro call, I'll send a questionnaire beforehand to have an idea about you and your dreams before the call. Afterwards, I'll follow up with concrete recommendations regardless of whether we work together. For those who want regular coaching, we will work on everything the application requires — program selection, timeline setting, personal statement, letters of recommendation, GRE/TOEFL strategy, portfolio, supplemental essays, interview prep. Every session comes with pre-call agenda setting and post-call notes and task list. If you're applying for the Fall 2027 cycle, the season pack (limited spots) is the most valuable option — I can help you throughout the process in a structured way, more value per session and more asynchronous access to me between calls. If you need help at a specific stage, single sessions works well too — just let me know where you are in the process beforehand and we'll make the most of our time together.
