Samarth’s College Qualifications

Samarth has helped clients get into these schools:

Neither of my parents attended college in the United States nor knew what the application process entailed. I know that for so many students and their families, navigating the application process feels like trying to look into a black box. But now, on the other side, I know it's not a scary unknown. The strongest applications are the ones that convey your true self -- your hobbies, your quirks, your passions, and your dreams. That sounds simple, but it's much, much harder than trying to just write down what you *think* application committees want to read. I've spent years figuring out my own story and finding the most compelling way to write about it for my college application to Harvard and my graduate applications to Yale Law School and Oxford. I'm eager to help you find your story and feel confident in it.

About Samarth

I graduated from Harvard College, Yale Law School, and Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship and I coach admissions for college, graduate school, and fellowship programs. My family and I are first generation immigrants from India. Neither of my parents went to college in the United States nor did they understand all that goes into the competitive application process. But I was lucky enough to go to a great public school in Massachusetts and then to some of the best universities in the world. At Harvard, I studied economics with a passion toward public service, which led me to win the Truman Scholarship. During my senior year, I was awarded both the Marshall Scholarship and Rhodes Scholarship, funding my degree in comparative social policy at Oxford. From there, I went to Yale, where I studied local government law and housing policy. In the middle of my last year, I moved down to Washington DC to serve in the Treasury Department, focused on applying sanctions to Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine and improving the U.S. economy. After leaving the government, I joined a startup in the sports industry while also continuing my policy work as a fellow at Stanford's Institute for Economic Policy and Research.

Why do I coach?

Through applying for college, fellowship programs, and law school, I came to appreciate that competitive applications aren't some mysterious black boxes that only the most connected can see into. Instead, as cliche as it sounds, universities want to know you--what motivates you, what brings you joy, what you want to do in your career, and why you do what you do. It sounds simple right? In reality, writing about the whole of yourself, and doing it in a compelling way, is the hardest part of any application. Throughout my life, I've been lucky to have mentors who helped me figure out my story and convey it in personal statements, supplement essays, and through a resume. I came to appreciate that the most important thing a coach can do is to give you confidence in your story and figure out how to package it into all the disparate parts of byzantine applications. I've helped friends, mentees, and coworkers get into some of the most prestigious universities in the country and to figure out what the right fit is for them. I love working with people to help them craft their narrative, be confident in it, and communicate it. I'd love to help you too.
